Exercise Concerns
Recommendations for exercise should be determined in consultation
with your cardiologist. If right heart function is impaired or
respiratory difficulty is moderate to severe, then treatment should
be obtained before pursuing unrestricted physical activity or
engaging in contact sports. Regular testing is necessary.
In cases where pulmonary artery dilatation is extreme, safe levels
of physical exertion - especially involving contact sports - should
be determined through consultation with a cardiologist.
Anyone with congenital heart disease, repaired or non-repaired,
should consult with their cardiologist about physical activity
to review the risks. |
